There is a text called the Devi Mahatmya written around 400 to 500 AD that these images refer to that I stumbled upon years ago. These particular paintings just blow me away. I wonder what Nasreen would think of these? She was secular; though she was born to a Muslim family. I think she was compelled by many different cosmologies.
